How to know if alpha lipoic acid supplements are right for you!

You may have heard a little about alpha lipoic acid supplements, but how do you know they are right for you.  Alpha lipoic acid occurs naturally in your body and can be enhanced with the foods you eat.  But if you are not getting enough naturally or through diet, then these supplements have been shown to help with a host of problems or symptoms including the following:

•    Reducing the signs of aging.
•    Increasing muscle mass in bodybuilders.
•    Helps enhance weight loss.
•    Helps with memory loss.
•    Helps with chronic fatigue.
•    Symptoms associated with HIV/AIDS.
•    Some cancer symptoms.
•    Helps with liver disease.
•    Helps with heart disease.
•    Helps with eye-related disorders.

This is a fairly new supplement so there has not been a lot of studies on how much you should take for maximum results, but if you work with a physician, they can help guide you with dosage.  It is not recommended that those who are pregnant, breastfeeding or children take these supplements.  Click here to learn more about these supplements.
So, if you have any of the problems or symptoms listed above, you should meet with your doctor to see if alpha lipoic acid supplements would be right for you.
How can alpha lipoic acid help you with weight loss?
If you have reached a plateau with your weight loss then alpha lipoic acid may be able to help.  If you take these as supplements or via injections under the careful guidance of a doctor it can help you lose weight.  Of course, these supplements or injections should be taken in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise regimen.
Alpha lipoic acid is an antioxidant which is found naturally occurring in your body.  There are many foods out there which contain traces of alpha lipoic acid including the following:

•    Organ meats such as liver, heart or kidneys.
•    Broccoli
•    Spinach
•    Green Peas
•    Brewer’s Yeast
•    Potatoes
•    Sweet Potatoes
•    Brussels Sprouts
•    Tomatoes
•    Beets

If you change your diet to include these foods, it will, in turn, increase the alpha lipoic acid found in your body.  When you take supplements or have injections, it increases the amount found in your body.  This is important because the alpha lipoic acid takes the sugars that you consume and store it in your liver or muscles instead of turning it into fat.  So, instead of gaining weight, you will be losing it and gaining muscle.
So, as you can see alpha lipoic acid can take a big role in your weight loss if you work closely with a physician and monitor your diet as well as exercise.
