At VIP medical weightloss we want you to know if organic foods are right for you

Our physician assisted weight loss bocaraton facility knows that you have probably heard about the growing fad with organic foods. However, you may be confused about what organic foods are and why people say you should eat them. Also, trying to navigate through the never ending maze of organic labels, benefits, and claims may become overwhelming. This is where we can help you. We can help you decide if organic food is truly healthier or more nutritious than normal foods. We can also help you understand what the labels mean on organic foods and why organic food is so much more expensive than other foods. The first step in understanding what the labels mean is by knowing what organic food truly is. When you hear the word
organic, it is referring to the way a product was grown and then processed. There are usually specific requirements that have to be met as well as maintained if a product is going to be labeled as an organic food. In order for a crop to be organic it has to be grown in safe soil as well as have no modifications done to the foods and it has to remain separate from other conventional products. The farmers that grow organic foods are not allowed to use pesticides, GMOs, petroleum based fertilizers, and sewage sludge based fertilizers. If a farmer is raising organic livestock, they have to be able to go outdoors and must be feed organic feed. These organicanimals cannot be given antibiotics, growth hormones, or any type of animal by-products. We want to do everything that we can to educate you on food choices so that you can remain healthy and keep the weight off even when you are done with our program. We want you to feel comfortable going into the store and we also want you to understand what is written on food labels.

Our VIP medical weightloss in Boca Ratonwants you to know the benefits of organic foods.

There are many benefits that can come from eating organic foods. For example, organic foods tend to have more nutrients (like antioxidants) than the foods that have been conventionally grown. If you tend to have allergies to certain foods, chemicals, or even preservatives you may notice that they subside when you start eating organic foods. Other benefits of eating organic foods are that they contain fewer pesticides than conventional foods. You will find that pesticide residue is on many conventionally grown foods. When you start eating organic foods, you will quickly notice that organic food is much fresher than conventionally grown food. This means that it will taste better and this will make it easier for you to start eating more healthily. Organic farmers actually benefit the environment because their practices reduce pollution in the air, the water, and the soil. Also, organic farmers use less energy, they conserve more water, and they reduce the amount of erosion in the soil. Also, by not using pesticides during farming, it is better for the birds and other small animals as well as people. Lastly, animals that are raised organically are never given any type of antibiotic, growth hormones, or fed animal by-products. When you consume meat from an animal that was given antibiotics, this can lead to an antibiotic-resistant strain of bacteria growing in your body. This means that if you were to get sick, you may not be able to use antibiotics to get better because your body will be less resistant to the use of antibiotics. When animals eat animal by-products, it increases their chances of catching a disease from the animal they are eating. This is what spreads salmonella, e Coli, mad cow disease, and more. Organic livestock have access to the outdoors which will keep them healthier and disease free. One last thing, did you know that buying organic is actually helping your local farmers? Organic food comes from the local, small farmers and by purchasing their products you are keeping the profit local. We know how important a healthy body and environment is to you. By letting us help get you on the right path to nutrition, both your body and the environment can reap the rewards.

Our VIP medical weight loss team can help you understand the organic food labels.

When you are at the grocery store, the organic food labels can become quite hard to read and understand. One thing that you will want to keep in mind is that natural does not mean organic. The word natural is not a regulated term and can be added to all types of food by anyone. The term organic is regulated and therefore can only be placed on a food item that has passed inspection standards. In the United States, the food label will say USDA Organic. A food has to be 95 to 100 percent organic in order to be able to have that label. If a food is 100 percent organic this means that it is completely organic. If a label just says organic it means that it contains at least 95 percent of organic ingredients. If a food label states that it has been made with organic ingredients that means that it contains 70 percent of organic ingredients. These foods will generally have their organic ingredients listed on the front of the package. If a label states that a food product contains organic ingredients, it means that it has less than 70 percent of organic ingredients in it. When you visit our facility we will be able to design a specialized plan just for you that will help you stay on your weight loss path. We can teach you how to properly read food labels so that you know you are eating the right types of food.
